Singapore’s Prime Minister Visits Thailand to Strengthen Bilateral Ties.

Bangkok: The Prime Minister opens Government House to welcome the "Prime Minister of Singapore" visiting Thailand for the first time. The visit marks a significant step in reinforcing bilateral relations and promoting economic and security cooperation between the two nations. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, welcomed Mr. Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, on his official visit to Thailand. This is Wong's first visit to Thailand since he assumed office in May 2024. The event was attended by key Thai officials, including Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, and Mr. Marist Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The leaders participated in a ceremony to inspect the honor guard at the Government House's Thai Khu Fah Building. Following this, photo sessions were held, and the Singaporean Prime Minister and his wife signed the guest book. They also viewed souvenirs in the Ivory Room, symbolizing the cl ose ties between the two countries. During the visit, the leaders held discussions and witnessed the signing of important agreements, including a memorandum of understanding between Thailand's Civil Service Commission Office and Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A joint press conference further highlighted the cooperation between the two nations. The Prime Ministers, along with their spouses, explored an exhibition featuring Thai handicrafts and arts at the Santi Maitri Building. The Thai Prime Minister hosted a lunch in honor of the Singaporean delegation, fostering goodwill and camaraderie. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, the government spokesman, announced that in 2025, Thailand and Singapore will celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations. The leaders aim to further strengthen their partnership focusing on areas such as cyber security, digital economy, and green economy, ensuring mutual benefits for their citizens.
