Singapore PM Lawrence Wong Concludes Successful Official Visit to Thailand.

Bangkok: The Prime Minister of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Lawrence Wong, has returned to Singapore following an official visit to Thailand. This visit marked his first official trip to Thailand since assuming office in May 2024. Mr. Wong and his wife departed from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 8:30 p.m. after being hosted by the Thai government. According to Thai News Agency, the visit was marked by significant diplomatic engagements. Mr. Wong was warmly received by Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand, at the Government House. During their meeting, the leaders discussed avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation across various sectors. A highlight of the visit was the signing and exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Thailand's Civil Service Commission and Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This agreement aims to strengthen ties and foster collaboration in civil service matters. Additionally, a joint press conference was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary o f diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore, emphasizing a commitment to expand cooperation in all areas. The departure of Mr. Wong was attended by key Thai officials, including Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, and Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, who served as representatives of the Thai government.
