Pattaya: The owner has come to pick up the lost Siberian Husky. A stray Siberian Husky was found and taken in by Pattaya police officers who then posted a notice to find its owner. Social media users flooded the comments with requests to adopt the dog. Recently, a representative from the owner contacted the police station to reclaim the dog.
According to Thai News Agency, the Facebook page of Pattaya City Police Station posted a video of a female Siberian Husky, approximately 6-7 months old, happily playing inside the police radio center at Pattaya City Police Station, Chonburi Province. The dog had been left with the police by a foreigner who was asking for help in finding its owner. The accompanying message read, "Looking for the owner of this Siberian Husky... If you lost her, please come to Pattaya Police Station."
Initially, it was learned that on September 15th, a foreigner found the lost dog in the Pattaya area and handed it over to the Pattaya City Police Station for care and to help find the owner.
After the Pattaya City Police Station's Facebook page posted the video on social media, it garnered a lot of attention and was shared widely, especially due to the playfulness of "Nong Sai," who was seen running around inside the police radio center. Many people expressed a desire to adopt her if her original owner could not be found.
Reporters went to Pattaya City Police Station and inquired with Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyoo, the station's superintendent. He revealed that the dog appeared to be lost and was friendly but rather mischievous. Officers were concerned that it might bite electrical wires or damage property within the police station, so they assigned the driver to temporarily care for it.
After the story was publicized, individuals donated money to take the dog to a veterinarian for a health check. Meanwhile, police were actively searching for the rightful owner to reclaim the dog.
However, if no owner came forward, officials would consider finding a suitable and capable person to adopt the dog, as many people had already contacted the authorities expressing their desire to adopt "Nong Suay."
On September 16th, a representative of the owner came to reclaim the dog from the residence of a police officer who served as the driver for the superintendent of the Pattaya City Police Station and who had volunteered to temporarily care for the dog. It was initially learned that the dog's name is "Chiel," a Japanese name. The representative revealed that "Chiel" became separated from its owner in the Pattaya area on September 14th after traveling from the Ladprao area of Bangkok. The owner saw the missing dog announcement on social media and promptly contacted the representative to pick up the dog, expressing their joy at finding the dog safe and well cared for by the police.
The atmosphere during the handover was heartwarming. The police officer who volunteered to look after "Ciel," even for a short time, clearly developed a bond with the dog, holding and hugging him before escorting him to his car.
Before leaving, the police officer said with a sorrowful tone, "If the owner can't take care of the dog, bring it back to me. We'll take care of it."
