Bangkok: The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the private sector and the Thai Y Content Promotion Association to launch the “Friends of SEA Games 2025” project. This initiative aims to bring together seven young artists to promote the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games. The announcement also introduced 12 famous artists and actors who will be participating in the opening ceremony of the 2025 SEA Games.
According to Thai News Agency, the SAT recently held a press conference to unveil the “Friends of SEA Games 2025” project and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with private and entertainment sectors. This collaboration will promote the 33rd SEA Games, which Thailand will host from December 9-20, 2025, in the cities of Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla. The 13th ASEAN Para Games will follow from January 20-26, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
The event was led by Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the SAT, and attended by prominent figures such as Mr. Wasan Homsaengpradit, Vice President of the Thai Y Content Promotion Association, and Ms. Thaksaya Theeyanatthanatcha, Director of the association. Also present were Ms. Prodpraon Samanmit, Deputy Governor of the SAT for Professional Sports and Boxing, Dr. Meechai Inwood, Deputy Governor of SAT for Administration, and executives from related sectors. The event saw significant public and fan attendance.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of seven new artists representing the “Friends of SEA Games 2025” initiative: Jes “Jess” Jespipat Tilapornpat, Hassanat “Bas” Piniwat, Longshi Lee, Panuwat “Mos” Sopradit, Nares “Pavel” Prompaopan, Pruk “Cee” Panich, and Theerathat “Thomas” Jungmaneerat. Their role will be to publicize the sporting events, encourage public participation, and promote a sense of happiness and national pride.
Additionally, the “ASEAN Friendship Ambassadors” were introduced. Consisting of 12 renowned artists and actors, they will hold country signs at the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games. The ambassadors include Worranit Thawornwong (Mook), Tassapol Vivitwat (Peter Pan), Amina Gul (Ice), Suthima Korkiatwanich (Foak), Ananta Tiawirat (Anda), Kamollak Saengsin (Lookkaew), Methapat Chimkul (Tonliu), Nattawat Iamchuen (Bonus), Chutamas Wangsawat (Nam), Thammathat Tharinphirom (Judo), Natthapat Deelerttrakul (Makka), and Thanakorn Kuljarassombat (Big).
Dr. Kongsak revealed that the “Friends of SEA Games 2025” project will harness the influence of artists and celebrities to promote the SEA Games, aiming to inspire youth, foster unity among Thais and ASEAN countries, and empower the nation. The collaboration aims to engage athletes and the Thai populace, particularly teenagers, to generate interest in sports, using the SEA Games as a catalyst.
In terms of mascots for the 33rd SEA Games, Dr. Kongsak confirmed the use of seven colors, seven days, and two Thai flag mascots across the competitions. These designs will be featured throughout the events and utilized in ceremonies such as medal presentations. The mascots will also be distributed through various channels and used for souvenir production.
