Bangkok: Senator Pinyaphat Sansaneeyawiwin has voiced her full support for the "Kanakrueng" initiative, expressing her belief in its potential to revitalize community economies. She has suggested extending the project to encompass both local and remote areas, with the aim of expanding it nationally.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Pinyaphat Sansaneeyawiwin, a member of the Senate, commented on the government's plans to advance the "Half-Half" project. She emphasized its role as a crucial measure for stimulating public spending and supporting the incomes of small businesses and communities. The project is designed to facilitate the purchase of consumer goods, particularly for low-income earners and farmers. It is also expected to help small businesses in local markets maintain their incomes, mitigate economic risks, and create new business opportunities.
Ms. Pinyaphat highlighted that the "Half-Half" project is more than a temporary solution, describing it as an essential tool for enhancing people's quality of life and strengthening the country's grassroots economy. She proposed that the government should expand the project to reach more remote and local areas to ensure that all residents benefit. She is confident that by decentralizing economic power, each province and municipality could manage the program to meet the specific needs of its citizens. Moreover, linking the program to community farmer products could enable people to sell their own community products directly, reducing dependence on intermediaries and fostering sustainable income.
