Chiang rai: Help arrived swiftly for a school girl found clinging to a tree branch in the middle of the Kok River. Good citizens promptly notified authorities, enabling rescuers to rush to the scene. The girl was given first aid before being transported to a hospital. An investigation into the incident is underway, and psychological care is being provided. According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at 7:55 a.m. on July 14, 2015, when a citizen noticed the female student in her school uniform struggling in the river. The concerned individual immediately alerted the authorities. In response, the water rescue team from the Sang Tham Satharanakul Chiang Rai Foundation, assisted by a long-tail boat from the CR. Pier of Cherdchai Company, quickly arrived at the location. They successfully rescued the girl and administered first aid on-site before transferring her to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital for further medical attention and support. The reason behind the girl's presence in the river remains unk nown. Officials are conducting an investigation and will provide psychological support to the student involved in the incident.
