Sathit Pitutecha Unseated as Democrat Party’s Central Region Deputy Leader


Bangkok: Tee Sathit” has lost his position as Deputy Leader of the Central Region of the Democrat Party, with “Mekhin” winning. Reporters noted that this afternoon, at the Democrat Party’s extraordinary general meeting, after electing a new party leader and eight deputy leaders, regional deputy party leaders were selected for voting by members.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Songkran Jitsuthiphakorn was chosen as deputy leader of the northern region, followed by Mr. Thanaporn Somsri as deputy leader of the northeastern region, Mr. Chaichana Dechacho as deputy leader of the southern region, and Mr. Sakolthee Phattiyakul as deputy leader of Bangkok. Meanwhile, two candidates were nominated for the central region: Mr. Sathit Pitutecha and Mr. Mekhin Iamsa-ard. In the final round of voting, Mr. Sathit received 35% of the votes, while Mr. Mekhin received 65%, becoming the central region leader.
