Bangkok: Sabida Thaiseth has officially resigned from her position as a Member of Parliament (MP), leading to Nikorn Chamnong stepping up to fill the vacancy.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Gazette website published an announcement from the House of Representatives detailing the appointment of Nikorn Chamnong, the next candidate on the Bhumjaithai Party’s party-list, to replace Sabida Thaiseth. This development follows the Election Commission’s announcement on March 4, 2026, which confirmed the results of the proportional representation election, initially announcing Ms. Thaiseth as the elected representative from the Bhumjaithai Party’s list.
Ms. Sabida Thaiseth submitted her resignation, effective April 2, 2026. Her resignation led to the termination of her membership, in accordance with Section 101 (3) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, B.E. 2560. Consequently, as per Section 105 (2) of the same constitution, Mr. Nikorn Chamnong, ranked 20th on the Bhumjaithai Party’s list, will ascend to the House of Representatives, filling the seat vacated by Ms. Thaiseth.
