Royal Thai Navy explains Rain bomb affects the full-scale rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession. Preparing to rehearse only the Royal Barge again on 24 Oct. Reporters reported that the Navy explained the reason for canceling the second Royal Barge Procession rehearsal this afternoon, stating that: As of today (22 October 2024), the Royal Thai Navy has held the second full rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession for the Kathin Robe Offering Ceremony at Wat Arun Ratchawararam. The procession has departed from Wasukri Pier as scheduled. But during the procession to the destination, Wat Arun Ratchawararam, there was heavy rain and strong winds. Before the practice, the weather conditions were continuously checked in advance until the practice started. No factors were found that would cause heavy rain for a long time. However, the heavy rain that occurred was in the form of a rain bomb. Due to the weather conditions, the ships were blown by the wind and there was a risk to the control of the fleet. The flee t was unsafe, so the controller had to order all ships to dock at the shore and stop the practice for the safety of the crew and the royal barges. In addition, in the area of ??Wat Arun Ratchawararam, there was an accumulation of rainwater and high flooding, making it impossible to continue the practice ceremony. The Royal Thai Navy would like to thank all citizens for their interest and for coming to follow the exercise and apologizes for the incident. However, on 24 October, the Royal Thai Navy will hold another round of training exercises, involving only four royal barges: the Suphannahong Royal Barge, the Narai Song Suban Royal Barge of King Rama IX, the Ananta Nakarat Royal Barge, the Anekchat Phuchong Royal Barge, and the Tangmo (Klong Nai) Royal Barge. The training route will be between Wat Rakhang Khositaram Worawihan and Fort Wichaiprasit between 12:00-15:00 (but the personnel will not be in their actual uniforms as they need to prepare for the actual day). Members of the public who are interested in watching the training exercises are welcome to join. In this regard, the Marine Department will control water traffic in the Chao Phraya River during the specified times and areas. Ferries outside the operational area can travel as usual. The Navy would like to inform you and apologize for any inconvenience caused.-313-Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agencyl
