According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Navy is intensifying border control in eastern Thailand. Recently, a Marine Corps task force in Chanthaburi arrested eight Bangladeshi migrant workers in Ban Marum, Khlong Yai Subdistrict, Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province. They had traveled from Bangladesh to work in Cambodia before illegally crossing into Thailand on foot through natural border crossings to seek assistance from the Bangladeshi embassy. The detainees have been handed over to investigators, and the Chanthaburi Immigration Office will be contacted for further legal proceedings.
