Sisaket: The Department of Provincial Administration has officially approved the resignation of "Captain Cat" from the position of District Chief, effective October 16, 2025. This decision follows a request submitted on October 1, 2025, to pursue a different career path.
According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Provincial Administration issued Order 2533/2568, which grants permission for civil servants to resign from government service. This follows the guidelines set by Sections 57 and 109 of the Civil Service Act B.E. 2551 (2008) and the Administrative Procedure Act B.E. 2539 (1996). The resignation order, also aligned with the Department's Order No. 610/2568, allows a civil servant to exit the service as outlined in an attached list.
The announcement, signed by Mr. Winai Tocharoen, Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, was ordered on October 15, 2025. The list identifies Police Lieutenant Colonel Athitiya Benjaphak, serving as District Chief at the Mueang Sisaket District Office, Sisaket Province, with a salary of 26,270 baht as of May 1, 2025, as the individual permitted to resign.
Despite her resignation, Ms. Athitiya retains the right to return to government service within one year. Her resignation request was initially submitted to Mr. Nirat Phongsitthaworn, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, at the beginning of October 2025.
