Bang Khla:Heavy rain, strong winds, and hail struck Bang Khla district, Chachoengsao province, causing severe flooding with water levels exceeding 1.50 meters. Rescue teams from Chachoengsao and the Po Teck Tung Foundation faced challenging conditions as they worked to evacuate residents from affected areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the continuous bad weather from the evening until nightfall on October 4, 2026, exacerbated the flooding in the district. This made rescue operations extremely difficult as turbulent waters swept into homes. Rescue teams had to navigate through strong currents, gusty winds, and heavy hail to assist those in need.
In Bang Kachaed Subdistrict, a disaster response team was dispatched to aid a 90-year-old man living alone. However, the rescuers encountered severe weather conditions en route, forcing them to seek temporary shelter in a flooded house until the storm subsided. Once safe, they successfully evacuated the elderly man.
Efforts continued in other flood-affected areas, particularly in Ban Thang Kham Noi and Ban Nam Cha, Hua Sai Subdistrict. Rescue workers prioritized evacuating the elderly and vulnerable residents, many of whom live alone or have limited mobility. Those who could not walk were transported by boat and vehicle to evacuation centers.
In addition to evacuating villagers, rescue officers delivered 14 oxygen tanks to a bedridden patient in a two-story house. The patient's family opted not to evacuate but requested the oxygen tanks due to the likelihood of prolonged flooding. The officers ensured the patient was moved safely to the second floor and assisted another elderly person on their return journey, transporting them to a shelter at Wat Hua Sai.
