Ray Macdonald’s Family and Friends Mourn as They Prepare for His Final Journey

Bangkok: Chakrit Yamnam revealed that Ray Macdonald, a prominent actor and presenter, died due to three blocked coronary arteries. The family recently gathered to collect his body from the Forensic Medicine Institute at the Police Hospital.

According to Thai News Agency, Ray Macdonald's wife, Mrs. Sarinya Macdonald, along with family and close friends, including entertainment industry figures like Leo Putt and Chakrit Yamnam, arrived to bid farewell to the 49-year-old actor. The atmosphere was somber as they prepared his body for the upcoming religious ceremonies. The family plans to hold the ceremonies at Sala Rattanapram, Wat Yang Royal Temple in Bangkok from August 20-25, with the cremation scheduled for August 26 at 4:00 PM.

Chakrit Yamnam disclosed that Ray's death was due to approximately 90 percent blockage in three coronary arteries. Despite a healthy appearance and active lifestyle, Ray passed away peacefully in his sleep. Chakrit emphasized that Ray's passing was not due to any other health complications and believed it was simply his time. Chakrit reflected on Ray's determination and passion, noting that every journey Ray undertook was filled with joy. The funeral ceremony began with a private family gathering for the bathing of the body.

Mrs. Sarinya shared insights into Ray's final days, revealing that he was on a break, spending time with their children during their school holidays. On the day of his passing, Ray did not wake up to take the children to school as usual. Initially, Mrs. Sarinya thought he was playing a trick, as was his habit. She later found him deceased, having passed away without any signs of distress. Although Ray was hesitant about medical visits, she believes he left behind a legacy of work that will make their children proud.

Forensic officials moved Ray's body for relatives to perform a traditional ritual, inviting his spirit from inside the morgue. The media were not permitted to capture images of the process. The family, including Ray's mother, accompanied the body to the temple, with Mrs. Sarinya visibly emotional and supported by family and friends. Before the convoy departed, Chakrit Yamnam poignantly asked Ray to join them on their final journey to the temple, marking the start of the ceremonies to honor his life.
