Bangkok: The Prime Minister insists that this government has reduced corruption and will fully crack down on it. The Prime Minister confirmed that this government has reduced corruption and is fully committed to cracking down on corruption and is ready to investigate the buying and selling of police positions.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, addressed the Anti-Corruption Network's disclosure that government agencies are accepting bribes for various projects. He stated that he believes the number has decreased, especially since this government took over. These issues are not a priority, and he intends to crack down on them fully. He believes this issue is an obstacle to national development and affects the country's image, confidence, and various rankings. He added that the government is determined to be an enemy of corruption.
Regarding the case of a popular Facebook page exposing the buying and selling of police positions, Mr. Anutin said the National Police Chief told him that if there were suspicions as reported in the news, he was willing to investigate, but he would have to consider the evidence. "Today's society is one of accusations made through various media outlets, and we have to adapt. If we follow every single thing, we won't get anything done. We have to consider each case individually."
The Prime Minister also stated that cooperation must be sought from various independent organizations, such as the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), and the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), with whom we have a collaborative network to combat this issue.
