This morning, Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, oversaw the dispatch of the 'Caravan of Relief Bags for Southern Flood Relief,' following the Prime Minister's directive. These relief bags, packed with essential items, are expected to reach Songkhla Province by midnight and will be distributed to the southern provinces the following day. The Prime Minister has also instruc ted the Ministry of Commerce to ensure that consumer goods remain available and affordable. Citizens are urged to report any hoarding or price gouging to the hotline 1569, and the Ministry promises swift action. The government reassures the southern residents that all necessary measures will be taken to alleviate their suffering, including negotiations with department stores to prevent shortages once the floodwaters recede. The introduction of the Blue Flag measure will provide necessary repair equipment at reduced prices to ease the cost of living during this crisis. Additionally, state-owned banks, including the Government Housing Bank (GHB), have launched a loan project to support homes affected by the disaster. Impacted individuals and bank clients will benefit from reduced installments and interest rates for one year, along with a three-month debt repayment suspension. Those looking to borrow for home repairs or reconstruction can access loans up to 2 million baht per person at an interest rate of 0% fo r the first three months, with a three-month payment grace period. Applications for the "Loan Project to Help Homes Affected by Disasters" are open until December 30, 2025, through GH Bank branches or by calling 0-2645-9000. Ms. Sasikarn emphasized the Prime Minister's concern for the flood-affected southern residents, particularly regarding housing, which is a vital necessity.
