Prime Minister of Thailand Asserts Continued International Trust Amid Economic Strategies

Bangkok: The Prime Minister of Thailand has expressed confidence in the country's sustained international trust during a significant policy meeting aimed at enhancing national competitiveness. Leading the 3rd/2025 meeting of the National Competitiveness Enhancement Policy Committee for Target Industries, he called for unified efforts to drive key national missions and implement measures to achieve strategic goals. The meeting, held at the Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House, was attended by key government figures including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanpraphas and Industry Minister Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that this meeting marks his first as Chairman of the National Competitiveness Enhancement Policy Committee for Targeted Industries. He appealed to all participants to collaborate in advancing the nation's agenda. The Competitiveness Enhancement Fund was highlighted as a crucial tool to support government strategies, particularly the "Quick Big Win" approach aimed at fostering economic recovery and enhancing the country's economic security.

Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as the Minister of Interior, underscored the importance of the meeting in evaluating several key measures designed to activate effective mechanisms for tangible outcomes. He stressed that enhancing the country's competitiveness is vital and that collective efforts are necessary for survival and success on the international stage.

The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of elevating skills across various sectors, including labor, product quality, and technological proficiency, to ensure Thailand's robust presence internationally. Reflecting on his recent participation in ASEAN and APEC meetings, he assured that Thailand continues to enjoy significant international trust, with room for improvement in regulatory and facilitation aspects.

Discussions during the meeting also touched on tariffs with the United States, with the Prime Minister highlighting the need for compliance with standards such as green energy and ethical practices to avoid increased tariffs. He urged a focus on producing high-quality, reasonably priced products to maintain Thailand's competitiveness globally.
