Bangkok: The Prime Minister embarked on a boat trip to oversee the royal initiative project aimed at developing the canals on Rattanakosin Island. This initiative, titled "Buddhist Monks Take a Boat Trip to Explore the Canals of Rattanakosin Island," marks a significant effort in enhancing the canal infrastructure in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, led the delegation alongside the committee responsible for monitoring and driving royal projects under His Majesty's policy. The activity took place at the pier of Wat Borom Niwas Rajavaravihara, located in the Pathum Wan District. As part of the event, 120 monks from five temples were invited to participate in the boat trip, exploring several canals including Khlong Maha Nak, Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem, Khlong Ong Ang, and Khlong Bang Lamphu.
This project involves a collaborative effort from various sectors to develop the canals in the Rattanakosin Island area. It includes the dredging of drainage canals and aims to improve transportation connectivity within the island. The initiative also plans to extend waterway transportation to the provinces of Chachoengsao and Ayutthaya. The project is guided by the principles of "Understanding, Accessing, and Developing," as envisioned by His Majesty the King, aligning with his royal aspirations of "Preserving, Maintaining, and Extending" the legacy.
