Bangkok: The Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Interior and provincial governors to organize the royal cremation ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha with the utmost respect and dignity.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a meeting to monitor the implementation of the Ministry of Interior's policies. He stated that the meeting was to deliver policy directives and expressed gratitude to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior for organizing it. Anutin also thanked Deputy Minister of Interior Polpeerapong Suwannachawi for representing the Ministry's executives in wishing him a happy 60th birthday. He noted that on October 1st, he would be the oldest person in the Ministry of Interior to hold this position, having served for approximately three years and having worked closely with everyone involved. He commended everyone's work.
Regarding the final quarter of the year, Anutin highlighted the crucial responsibility of the Ministry of Interior: the royal cremation ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, scheduled for mid-December 2026. He emphasized the need to ensure the ceremony is conducted with the utmost respect and that the necessary budgets have been approved for all relevant agencies to ensure its successful implementation. Following this, he announced the royal cremation ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn instructed that further planning be carried out to ensure continuity and efficiency, including the efficient use of expenses and budgets, avoiding extravagance and redundancy. She also requested that all provincial governors organize royal cremation ceremonies for all citizens to fully participate, whether at the provincial or district level. She further requested meticulous planning for any incidents and, most importantly, ensuring the ceremony is conducted with the utmost respect and dignity.
