Bangkok: The Prime Minister has affirmed that the emergency decree for borrowing 400 billion baht is proceeding in accordance with the law. Anutin Charnvirakul, acting on behalf of His Majesty the King, expressed his readiness to assume full responsibility regardless of the impending Constitutional Court ruling. According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, upon his return from the 48th ASEAN Summit, addressed the status of the 400 billion baht loan decree. He emphasized that all actions are in line with legal procedures and confirmed that he, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, and relevant agency officials, are strictly adhering to these procedures. Anutin highlighted that the loan will be directly distributed to the people without intermediaries. The government aims to urgently address the population's suffering by improving quality of life, reducing living costs, and resolving economic hardships. When questioned a bout the potential impact of a Constitutional Court petition on the decree's implementation, Anutin asserted its legality. He anticipated the royal decree would be approved and published in the Royal Gazette, making him accountable as Prime Minister upon receiving the royal command. He pledged to take responsibility for all outcomes, whether positive or negative, and expressed hope for beneficial results for the nation and its citizens. Anutin also assured that there would be no financial mismanagement regarding the loan. He stated that Cabinet ministers, who collectively approved the decree, would oversee the budget's utilization to ensure it benefits the country and its citizens fully.
