Prime Minister Awaits Assessment Results Post Ceasefire Between Thailand and Cambodia

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has not yet heard the assessment results after the 72-hour ceasefire ended. The Prime Minister revealed that he has not yet heard the assessment results after the 72-hour ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia ended, saying that anyone can say whatever they want.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, in an interview following the expiration of the 72-hour ceasefire period following the signing of the Joint Statement between Thailand and Cambodia, stated that he had not yet heard the results of the assessment meeting, but that Thailand had acted according to the agreement. Regarding whether prisoners of war would be released immediately, he said he did not know, as that was a matter for those handling the process.

Regarding the statement by Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen that he would not accept Thailand's planting of the flag, and whether this signals that the border situation is not truly peaceful, Mr. Anutin said, "We stand by our stance. We planted the flag to show that we are confident this is Thai territory. That's all. Let whoever wants to say whatever they want. The Thai government says this, and the Thai people say this."
