Prime Minister Assures Efficient Flood Relief Process Without Delays

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has clarified the process for requesting flood relief, emphasizing there will be no delays and highlighting that the authority to declare an Emergency Decree in Satun Province rests with the governor. Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, discussed the efforts to streamline the application process for financial aid, instructing provincial governors to expedite the procedure and ensuring there will be no delays.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister addressed concerns regarding areas that have not been declared disaster zones. He assured that assistance and compensation would not be delayed, citing the criteria set by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) that apply even in non-declared areas.

When questioned about the potential declaration of a state of emergency in Satun Province, the Prime Minister stated that the decision lies with the Satun Governor, who will evaluate the situation accordingly, as this authority is already within the governor's jurisdiction.
