Prime Minister Assigns Deputy to Address Flood Concerns in Southern Provinces.

Bangkok: Prime Minister Paethongtarn has tasked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Prasert Chantararuangthong, with visiting the southern provinces on December 6th. Prasert's mission includes assessing the flood situation and visiting the Office of National Water Resources (ONWR). There are currently no confirmed plans for the Prime Minister to join him on this trip. According to Thai News Agency, Prasert revealed that the floods in the southern region have caused some damage, notably to signal poles, leading to temporary communication issues. However, the impact on signal usage remains minor. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and service providers have been instructed to assist affected areas urgently, ensuring communication lines remain open for residents. The proactive measures for flood warnings are in place, with the Cell Broadcast system ready to alert residents if necessary. The ONWR had already established a front-center at the beginni ng of November to address potential flood issues following forecasts of heavy rainfall in late November and December.
