Bangkok: The Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, participated in a crucial budget discussion in Parliament today before his scheduled departure to Norway later tonight. He assured that Minister Ekniti would provide thorough explanations during the session, emphasizing that there was no cause for concern.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as the Minister of Interior, arrived at the House of Representatives to engage in the deliberations over the draft Budget Act for the fiscal year 2027. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of attending the budget debate as much as possible before leaving for Norway. His departure is to fulfill a royal appointment by His Majesty the King, representing the monarch at the royal funeral ceremony of the King of Norway. Before his departure, Anutin ensured he exercised his vote on each clause of the Budget Act.
He reiterated that there was nothing to worry about, citing ongoing monitoring and coordination efforts. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, chaired the ad hoc committee reviewing the 2027 budget bill and was present at the parliament to address any queries from the MPs. The meeting today focused on the second and third readings of the agenda, which would subsequently be submitted to the Senate, indicating that there was still ample time for further deliberations.
