Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul Leads Bhumjaithai Party Ministers in Sacred Ceremony at Government House

Bangkok: The Prime Minister paid homage to the sacred objects at Government House and prayed for a smooth transition.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, marked his first official day of duty at the Thai Khu Fah Building by leading Bhumjaithai Party ministers in a ceremony to pay respects to sacred objects. Arriving at Government House in a Rolls-Royce with Bangkok registration number Wor 3333, the Prime Minister immediately went to his office to pay homage to a Buddha statue.

At 8:41 a.m., the Prime Minister, along with several ministers and Bhumjaithai Party MPs, visited various sacred sites at Government House, including the spirit house and the shrine of the ancestors, to seek good fortune. The entourage included Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul, Mr. Napintorn Srisanpang, Mrs. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Mr. Santi Piyatat, Mr. Woraphak Thanyawong, and Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen.

After the ceremony, the Prime Minister responded to reporters' inquiries about his blessings with the phrase, "Such a smooth journey," and mentioned that the amulets he would bring to Government House reside in one's heart. Reporters noted that the Prime Minister plans to bring three Buddha images, Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Sothon, Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, and Phra Phuttha Siritrairat, to his office in the Thai Khu Fa building. These images were created by Mr. Anutin in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, with the Phra Phuttha Siritrairat set to be placed on his desk.

The day of the ceremony coincided with Adhibdi and Thongchai, considered auspicious for starting new ventures, enhancing luck, and performing ceremonies related to stability, power, governance, and administration. It remains uncertain whether the Narasingh statue, a symbol of the Thai Khu Fa building, will be relocated after its previous move by former Prime Minister Settha Thavisin.
