Prasert and Akranan Officially Assume Roles at Ministry of Education

Bangkok: Mr. Prasert Chantharawongthong, Minister of Education, and Mr. Akranan Kankittinant, Deputy Minister of Education, officially assumed their positions today at the Ministry of Education. This event, which took place at approximately 7:09 AM, was attended by Mr. Suthep Kaengsanthia, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, along with ministry executives, civil servants, and education personnel.

According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony began with the Minister and Deputy Minister paying respects to several religious and historical sites within the Ministry, including the Buddha statue, the Phra Phutthabarami Saksit Siamisorn Chakri Satthi Anusorn Suksa Tharangsarn shrine, and the Royal Monument of King Mongkutklao (Rama VI). They also visited the Office of Vocational Education Commission and the shrine of Pu Chiam. Following these rituals, they met with senior executives, civil servants, and staff and received congratulations in the form of flowers at the Damrong Rajanupap Room, located in the Rajavallop Building of the Ministry of Education.

The Minister of Education shared that he was warmly welcomed by the ministry's executives, civil servants, and staff. He outlined his planned work approach following a policy statement made to Parliament on April 9-10, 2026. The approach includes reducing educational inequality and alleviating the burden on teachers and educational personnel. This is particularly significant given the current energy crisis and ongoing PM 2.5 air pollution issues. The focus is on providing concrete assistance to parents, teachers, and educational personnel to ease their challenges.
