Prachachart Party’s Vision for a Peaceful and Prosperous Southern Thailand

Bangkok: The Prachachart Party, led by Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, has unveiled a transformative agenda aimed at addressing the ongoing unrest and economic challenges in Thailand’s southern border provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. This initiative comes in the wake of significant political shifts in the region, as the 2026 elections highlight a new competitive landscape.

According to Thai News Agency, Police Colonel Tawee has outlined a strategy that shifts focus from traditional state security measures to enhancing human security and quality of life. The party’s policy framework includes the “Peace and Tranquility Act for a Better Quality of Life,” which seeks to engage all societal sectors in dialogue, moving away from a “state within a state” approach that has prevailed for over two decades.

The Prachachart Party has also introduced the innovative “0-10-100” strategy to tackle illegal trade and drug issues in the region. This includes eliminating drug traffickers and providing comprehensive treatment for drug addicts, alongside community incentives to prevent drug addiction. Their plan further includes reforming agencies like the Immigration Bureau to enhance transparency and accountability.

Additionally, the party is prioritizing economic revitalization through the promotion of a “Halal Superpower” economy and Islamic finance principles. This involves creating a Halal Economic Corridor, establishing a free trade zone, and utilizing interest-free financial systems to stimulate regional growth and connect with the broader Malay and Muslim markets.

Police Colonel Tawee emphasizes that the Prachachart Party’s approach aims to address the national implications of the southern border issues by embracing local identities and promoting justice and decentralization. The overarching goal is to achieve long-lasting peace and prosperity for the communities in these provinces.
