Power Restored to Flooded Bangkok Housing Estates

Bangkok:The government has announced that the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has restored power to the Khlong Chan and Rom Klao housing communities, which were affected by recent flooding.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that due to flooding in the Khlong Chan (Bang Kapi District) and Rom Klao (Lat Krabang District) housing estates, the government instructed the MEA to ensure the electrical safety of the affected areas and to restore electricity to help alleviate the residents' suffering.

Ms. Ploytalay reported that power has been fully restored from the second floor upwards in areas deemed safe. In regions with high water levels, the MEA initially disconnected power equipment to prevent electrical hazards and will gradually restore power as conditions improve. The Prime Minister has directed MEA officials to expedite the restoration process, with a strong emphasis on public and personnel safety.

Residents in affected areas are advised to have qualified technicians inspect electrical systems and equipment previously submerged in water. In cases of damage or suspected electrical leaks, residents should avoid contact and seek assistance from the MEA by calling 1130, available 24 hours a day.
