Police Seek Suspect After Fatal Stabbing of 16-Year-Old in Sai Mai

Bangkok: Police are hunting for a delivery rider who fatally stabbed a young man riding a Bolt motorcycle on a roadside in the Sai Mai area. Sai Mai police are urgently searching for a male delivery rider who fatally stabbed a 16-year-old boy riding a Bolt motorcycle on Sai Mai 74 Road. The suspect has a history of being arrested for a driving violation at Hua Mak police station.

According to Thai News Agency, Police Lieutenant Worinthorn Khunurat, Deputy Investigator at Sai Mai Police Station, received a report of a stabbing resulting in a death. Upon investigation, they found the body of 16-year-old Wittawat, or "Moo," a motorcycle taxi driver, with a single stab wound to the right chest above the nipple. He was found dead on the sidewalk near the entrance of Soi Sai Mai 74/G, Sai Mai District, Bangkok, late last night. A witness's dashcam footage revealed the assailant was a man aged approximately 40-50, a motorcycle rider of average build, riding a white Honda Wave motorcycle. The incident reportedly stemmed from a motorcycle collision followed by a chase, during which the assailant assaulted and fatally stabbed the victim before fleeing.

At 10:00 AM today, investigators from Sai Mai Police Station examined the scene and gathered evidence from a video clip provided by a concerned citizen. They identified the perpetrator as Mr. Thongchai, 44 years old. He has a prior record of being issued a traffic ticket by Hua Mak Police Station for driving without a license on February 21, 2025. After the incident, he fled on the motorcycle via Soi Sai Mai 39, onto Khukot Road, heading towards Pratu Bangkok, and then driving against the traffic towards Kilometer 25.

Initially, investigators are in the process of tracking down the suspect to prosecute him on charges of assaulting another person with a knife resulting in death, according to legal procedure.
