Bangkok: Preparations are underway to send Mr. Chachanan, known as 'Fluke', back to Pattaya court as police continue their interrogation. Despite ongoing investigations, authorities have not yet found evidence implicating Mr. Pong in any additional murders beyond those already identified.
According to Thai News Agency, the investigation centers on the brutal murder and burial of five individuals, including two Russian siblings and a family of three. Police Colonel Phaskorn Paijit, leading the Chonburi Provincial Police Investigation Division, has been questioning Fluke, a 24-year-old suspect involved in the murder of the family. The Pattaya Provincial Court has requested further questioning of Fluke due to suspicions that Mr. Pong, the alleged mastermind, might have committed other similar crimes.
Throughout the morning, Chonburi Provincial Police interrogated Fluke, who reiterated his involvement in the murder of the three family members. He claimed that Mr. Fluke, who is Mr. Ball's brother-in-law, was misled into taking part in the crime. During questioning, Fluke appeared visibly stressed and emotional.
Fluke's questioning was deemed crucial as he is considered the most easily influenced suspect, potentially offering vital information. Notably, he was the only suspect capable of driving a manual transmission vehicle, a skill he used to drive the victims' pickup truck to a coconut plantation, where he allegedly participated in their murders and subsequent burial.
Rumors suggest that Mr. Pong may have committed another crime in Ban Chang District, Rayong Province, in early July. However, investigations have yet to find any evidence linking him to these claims. Police plan to return Fluke to Pattaya Provincial Court before transferring him to Pattaya Special Prison.
Pol. Col. Warawut Nityawan of Huai Yai Police Station expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation's rescue team, who assisted in recovering the victims' bodies over a four-day search. The foundation will also handle the transportation of the bodies from the Forensic Medicine Institute, Police Hospital, to Chonburi Province for religious ceremonies, expected to occur tomorrow.
