Bangkok: The Commissioner General of Police convened a strategic meeting with the working group to expedite the examination of evidence and review legal details in the local government exam cheating case, with plans to report findings to the Deputy Prime Minister this Friday. The investigation team is considering the summons of 11 additional individuals to face charges.
According to Thai News Agency, Police General Kittirat Panpetch, Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, chaired a meeting at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters. The meeting included representatives from the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), and the Department of Local Administration. The group focused on meticulously reviewing legal details, evidence, and financial transactions related to the local government examination corruption case. Their aim is to prepare a comprehensive summary for Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilapraphan, scheduled for submission this Friday, to be included in the case file for the NACC within the mandated 30-day period.
As the investigation advances, the Crime Suppression Division is set to file charges against 11 more individuals, who were apprehended at a residence in Nonthaburi Province during a police search. Among these individuals, nine are government officials from local administrative organizations, while two are employees of private companies. One notable individual, Mr. Chatpisut, known as "Toey," is currently under interrogation and is facing multiple charges.
