PM to honour eight “good Samaritans” at Government House on Tuesday

Eight good Samaritans who helped rescue a family of four trapped in a burning car following a road accident in in Si Khieu district of Nakhon Ratchasima last Tuesday will be received by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at the Government House on Tuesday.

Nakhon Ratchasima governor Wichien Chantharanothai said that the prime minister wants to express his appreciation with the good deed of the eight individuals and would honor each of them with a plaque.

As for the four victims, Mr Priew Prangproo, his wife and two children, the governor said that they were out of danger, but still recuperating at the Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima hospital.

He added that they are expected to be discharged from the hospital in two weeks.

Mr Priew's car was involved in a road accident on June 12 on the Friendship highway in Si Khieu district and caught fire. A small group of people who witnessed the incident then rushed to their rescue and pulled them out from the burning car.

The four good Samaritans were identified as Mr Prasit Saraban, driver of Sanki Quality Products Company in Samut Prakan, Mr Udomdet Prasertchaichokedee, Mrs Jiratchaya Chobking, village head of Village 4, Tambon Krisana of Si Khieu district, and Mr Vichit Suebsai, an employee of an automotive firm in Si Khieu district.
