Government House, The Prime Minister has ordered the flag to be flown at half-mast for 2 days from August 1-2, 2024, to mourn the death of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Mr. Chai Wachirang, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Mr. Settha Thavisin, Prime Minister, has ordered government agencies and state enterprises to lower flags to half-mast throughout the Kingdom to mourn Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who died of old age on July 19, 2024 at the age of 80. By specifying that flags will be lowered to half-mast on Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2, 2024, a total of 2 working days, and requesting cooperation from all government agencies to lower flags to half-mast on the specified dates.
