Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha arrived in Nakhon Ratchasima this morning (Aug 21) to begin his two-day mobile cabinet meeting in this gateway city to other northeastern provinces.
He was accompanied by his deputy prime ministers Somkid Jatusripitak, Admiral Narong Pipatanasai, and Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda.
He first went to pay homage to the respected statue of Thao Suranaree in the town and later greeted several hundreds of local people gathering there to welcome his arrival for the meeting in Nakhon Ratchasima.
At the welcome ceremony taken part by governors and local government officials, representatives of the private sector, and members of the public from 20 northeastern provinces, Gen Prayut thanked all the people for their warm welcome.
At the ceremony, he delivered land ownership certificates to poor landless farmers to earn their living.
The mobile cabinet meeting will start late today at the city townhall, mainly focus on floods, drought, and water management.
