PM Holds Strategic Meeting to Boost Thailand’s Semiconductor Industry.

Bangkok: The Prime Minister, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, chaired the National Semiconductor and Advanced Electronics Industry Policy Committee meeting at the Bhakdi Bodin Building, Government House. Attendees included Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, Minister of Industry, Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, along with other relevant agencies. According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's focus on strengthening the economic structure and industrial development, with a particular emphasis on the semiconductor sector. The Secretary-General of the Board of Investment (BOI) reported a significant level of interest from investors, indicating promising opportunities for the country. The Prime Minister expressed a desire to attract more investors and foster beneficial connect ions. The Prime Minister also highlighted the potential of Thai people in future business sectors, noting their ability to enhance skills and adapt to new industries. She advocated for simultaneous development in both emerging industries and the skill set of Thai individuals. The meeting underscored the importance of investing in the semiconductor industry while concurrently enhancing the capabilities of the workforce to secure a prosperous industrial future for Thailand.
