Trang:A pickup truck parked overnight by the Ngiew Reservoir in Huai Yot District was completely destroyed by fire, causing alarm among residents when an object resembling a human skull was found on the front seat. Police are now working with forensic experts to investigate the incident.
According to Thai News Agency, the fire was reported to Huai Yot Police Station, prompting police, rescue workers, and fire trucks to respond. They arrived to find a four-door Mitsubishi pickup, bronze in color, with a lowered suspension and Nakhon Si Thammarat license plates, engulfed in flames. The fire originated at the front of the vehicle and spread to both the engine and passenger compartments, leading to the vehicle's total destruction. Authorities managed to extinguish the blaze with water.
Once the fire was under control, officials discovered the charred object on the front left seat, which appeared to be a skull or possibly human remains. The area was immediately secured, pending confirmation from a detailed examination by doctors and forensic officers from Trang province.
Local residents reported that the pickup truck had been parked by the reservoir since the morning of October 5th, with all windows tightly closed. The location is frequently visited by villagers and fishermen, which is why the vehicle's presence did not initially raise suspicion. However, the fire unexpectedly erupted on the evening of October 6th, prompting an emergency call to authorities.
The vehicle is registered to Ms. Tippawan, 36, from Bang Klam District, Songkhla Province. Police have been unable to reach her, as her phone number has been deactivated, and attempts to contact her father have gone unanswered. Investigations revealed that Ms. Tippawan recently separated from her husband and remarried in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Police are now attempting to contact her new husband for further information and to establish Ms. Tippawan's whereabouts.
Forensic officers from Trang province, along with a coroner, are expected to conduct a thorough examination of the vehicle and any suspicious objects found inside to confirm if they are human remains and to determine the true cause of the fire, as authorities work to resolve this mysterious case.
