Bangkok: "Phumtham" hopes that the JBC meeting between Thailand and Cambodia tomorrow will be smooth, bring about a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, and jointly protect the interests of the people of the two countries. Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, posted on Facebook that he hoped that the JBC meeting tomorrow would proceed smoothly to create normalcy between the two countries, whether in terms of security, economy, society, and culture, which would lead to cooperation in maintaining friendship and international relations, and create guidelines for cooperation at all levels for the peace of the people of both countries.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham expressed his desire for the people of both Thailand and Cambodia to receive correct and true information from both governments, emphasizing the importance of official communication without distortion or provocative gestures that might incite conflict or misunderstanding. He stressed that such actions could be obstacles to peacefully resolving issues.
Both governments have coordinated and agree on the importance of restoring good relations between the countries and their people. They aim for cooperation to solve problems in all aspects to restore peace, including stable relations, economy, transportation, society, and culture, for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries, echoing the relationship they once shared.
Mr. Phumtham concluded with his hope that the meeting would mark a positive beginning, resulting in a meaningful approach to improving the quality of life for people on both sides.
