Phuket: Thousands are expected to attend the Israeli New Year celebrations. Phuket police have deployed officers to ensure security. Phuket Provincial Police are preparing security forces to oversee the Israeli New Year festival, or "New Year Rosh Hashana," in the Patong area, scheduled for September 11th.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum, Commander of the Phuket Provincial Police, revealed that the Chabad Patong event has been held annually in previous years without any violence or law violations. This year, it will be held at two locations: Chabad Patong and the Novotel Patong Hotel, with an estimated 1,000 participants. Police have deployed 50 officers, both in uniform and plainclothes, along with administrative officials to oversee the area. Checkpoints will be set up at both ends of the soi (alley) to screen those entering and exiting, and intelligence units will be deployed to closely monitor security and prevent incidents.
