Bangkok: Phongsakorn Kwanmuang has been appointed as the new spokesperson for the Democrat Party, succeeding Rames Rattanachaweng, who has transitioned to the position of deputy secretary-general of the party.
According to Thai News Agency, the appointments were made during the Democrat Party’s extraordinary general meeting held at the Miracle Grand Hotel. This meeting also saw the re-election of Abhisit Vejjajiva as the party leader. Alongside these key appointments, the party filled several other significant roles, including positions for deputy party secretaries, which were assigned to individuals such as Ms. Kantawan Tanthian, Mr. Khayan Wiphromchai, Mr. Jea-aming Toh-tayong, Mr. Pracha Yodwanich, Mr. Rames Rattanachaweng, and Mr. Apimongkol Sonakul.
In other appointments, Ms. Jemmas Junglertsiri has been named the Democrat Party Treasurer, while Ms. Phongsri Tharaphum takes on the role of Democrat Party Registrar. The meeting also involved the selection of additional executive committee members, although there were no proposals for local executive representatives due to the absence of local executives within the Democrat Party.
