Bangkok: "Pharadon" expressed his gratitude towards "Teng" after the latter announced that if he could support "Anutin" to become Prime Minister, he could also bring him down.
According to Thai News Agency, Pharadon bowed respectfully to Teng, repeatedly thanking him after "Natthapong" made the declaration. Pharadon affirmed the government's readiness for scrutiny, indicating that they have not anticipated questions and will wait to see the motion first. He suggested that the issue of collusion in the Senate might target the Bhumjaithai Party, noting that letters addressing this matter have been sent since the Senate election campaign commenced.
Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, commented on the opposition's planned no-confidence debate, stating that the government welcomes it as a legitimate right and power of the opposition. He described it as a weapon for the opposition to scrutinize, question, and debate the government, a process in line with the law and constitution. Despite the uncertainty about the timing, the government expressed willingness to be fully investigated.
When questioned about anticipating the examination questions, Mr. Paradorn mentioned he had not done so and was waiting for the opposition's motion submission to the Speaker of the House. He remained confident that the government could address all issues, asserting that the government had not previously engaged in illegal or corrupt activities.
Addressing the opposition's goal to overthrow the government, Mr. Paradorn emphasized the importance of evidence and the ministers' responses to the no-confidence motion. He suggested that if the evidence is compelling and explanations unsatisfactory, members of parliament would make a political decision. He reflected on past no-confidence debates where both sides performed their duties well, leading to informed decisions by parliament.
Regarding alleged collusion in the Senate elections, Mr. Paradorn believed the focus would primarily be on the Bhumjaithai Party. He reiterated the party's consistent stance against involvement in the Senate selection process, which would violate the law. This stance has been maintained in writing since the Senate election campaign began.
When asked about the legitimacy of a motion alleging collusion among senators, Mr. Paradorn stated that it would depend on the motion submitted by the opposition. He assured that they are prepared to respond to all accusations.
On the subject of the Election Commission's (EC) decision on September 14th concerning alleged Senate election collusion, Mr. Paradorn stated that the Bhumjaithai Party has consistently respected the judicial process and is ready to abide by the EC's rulings and guidelines. The party will defend its case in court, confident in its position and maintaining no involvement in violations of laws related to the Senate's acquisition.
Regarding Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, and his statement about proposing Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister and potentially removing him, Mr. Paradorn humbly expressed his gratitude, bowing and repeatedly thanking him.
