Bangkok: Two candidates for the position of Pattaya mayor cast their votes, urging citizens to participate in shaping the future of Pattaya for the next four years. The atmosphere at the Pattaya City Mayor and City Council elections in Chonburi Province was lively and smooth from the onset of polling at 8:00 AM.
According to Thai News Agency, candidates and high-ranking officials were present in full force to cast their votes. At Darul Ibadah Mosque on Sukhumvit Road, Pattaya Central, in Constituency 2, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, the situation remained orderly and calm. Polling stations 20-22 were consolidated within a school building and a dome-shaped structure, and citizens arrived continuously to cast their votes throughout the morning.
This location was notably significant as it was where Mr. Parames Ngampicheth, also known as Beer, a Pattaya mayoral candidate from the "We Love Pattaya" group, cast his vote. Mr. Parames, along with his family, voted at polling station number 22, number 195. He expressed the significance of the day in determining Pattaya's future for the coming four years and encouraged all eligible citizens to vote for the members of the Pattaya City Council and the Mayor of Pattaya. After voting, he greeted people in the area before returning to the We Love Pattaya group's election coordination center to await the results.
On the other hand, Mr. Itthiwat Wattanasartsathorn, the main challenger and a candidate from the People's Party, cast his vote at polling station 17, constituency 1, Pothisatphan Pittayakarn School, Naklua Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. Mr. Itthiwat appeared cheerful and joined the queue with other citizens, following standard procedures to vote. He emphasized the importance of every vote and expressed his ambition for a record-breaking voter turnout, reinforcing the idea of a "Pattaya for Everyone."
