Parit Remains Silent on Potential Nomination of Dr. Joe for Bangkok Governor

Bangkok: Parit Wacharasindhu, a party-list MP from the People's Party, has maintained silence regarding the potential nomination of Dr. Joe (Parit Chivacharoen) as the candidate for Bangkok governor, with the official announcement set for May 5th. He emphasized that the qualifications of candidates will be thoroughly vetted and expressed no concern over any past revelations. Additionally, Parit announced that a list of 50 district council members would be made available on the party's website for public feedback and final verification.

According to Thai News Agency, Parit commented on rumors circulating about the potential nomination of Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, known as "Dr. Joe," a party-list MP, for the Bangkok gubernatorial election. He reiterated that the People's Party has scheduled an official announcement for May 5th at 5:00 PM, where they will reveal their candidate for Bangkok governor along with all 50 candidates for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council in each district. Parit refrained from confirming any names, urging everyone to wait for the press conference.

When questioned about whether a two-month campaign period is adequate for implementing policies, Parit responded that the party has been in continuous preparation for the Bangkok elections. The names of its Bangkok City Council candidates have already been disclosed, with a process underway to gather public feedback on the party's website regarding their suitability. Meanwhile, the party continues to advance its policy initiatives.

Parit called for the public to consider the broader context, emphasizing that addressing the issues in Bangkok requires multiple mechanisms working in parallel. The policies to be presented in this election, whether through a gubernatorial candidate or proposed ordinances in the Bangkok City Council, have been pre-prepared and will be elaborated upon during the campaign's official launch press conference.
