Panel formed to upgrade university-level education to meet EEC challenges

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has exercised special powers under Section 44 of the interim constitution in his capacity as head of the National Council for Peace and Order to set up a panel tasked with upgrading the quality of education at university level to produce highly-capable personnel in various fields to meet the challenges of the Eastern Economic Corridor.

The upgrading of the quality of education at university level will hopefully make Thailand capable of competing with other countries in the region in terms of qualified personnel and competency to drive the EEC.

The panel to be led by the education minister will hand-pick prestigious foreign universities to help in the reform of university-level education.
