Bangkok: Dr. Ming, the Prime Minister's secretary, has expressed confidence that Paethongtarn Shinawatra will personally address the Constitutional Court regarding an audio clip under scrutiny. He emphasized that the matter was handled with good intentions aimed at benefiting the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, discussed the Constitutional Court's plan to hear testimonies from two additional witnesses. These witnesses include Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, and Mr. Chatchai Bangchuad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), concerning the audio clip on August 21st, ahead of a hearing on August 29th. Dr. Prommin speculated on Ms. Paethongtarn's attendance, stating that it would be evident when the time comes, as he believes the Prime Minister will make his own decision.
Dr. Prommin, when questioned about his confidence in the Prime Minister's team, reiterated that their actions were guided by sincerity and a commitment to the nation's interests. He suggested that this motivation was a fundamental reason for their approach.
Addressing concerns about potential issues arising from the court's decision to only accept the NSC Secretary-General for questioning after presenting five witnesses, Dr. Prommin stated that they would rely on the factual evidence presented. He maintained that the facts should speak for themselves in this matter.
