OBEC Ensures Fairness in Triam Udom Suksa School Entrance Exams

Bangkok: The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) inspected the examination venues for the "Pre-University" entrance exam, emphasizing transparency and fairness in the examination process at Triam Udom Suksa School. Mr. Pichet Phophakdee, Secretary-General of OBEC, along with Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Wisanu Thrapsombat and their delegation, visited the examination site at Impact Challenger Hall 2-3, Muang Thong Thani.

According to Thai News Agency, the entrance examinations at Triam Udom Suksa School for the 10th grade (Secondary School Year 4) for the academic year 2026 attracted 13,895 applicants nationwide. The school plans to admit 1,520 students, resulting in a competition ratio of 1:9.14. The admissions are categorized into eight study programs: Science-Mathematics, Language-Mathematics, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Korean, with varying numbers of applicants and available seats.

Mr. Pichet Phophakdee noted that the examination process was running smoothly, with systematic management of the venues aimed at facilitating students and parents. He highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in the examination procedures, a priority set by Professor Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, to ensure fairness and equality for all students.

The Secretary-General assured parents and students that OBEC has sufficient school places for all children, aligning with its policy of distributing opportunities and maintaining educational standards to nurture knowledgeable and virtuous youth. Triam Udom Suksa School is set to announce the exam results by March 17, 2026. Students who missed this opportunity can apply for the regular entrance exam for grade 10 (M.4) at schools nationwide.
