Nine Police Officers Transferred After Illegal Gambling Raids in Bangkok

Bangkok: Nine police officers have been transferred following the arrest of those involved in illegal gambling dens in Nimit Mai and Bueng Kum districts. The Bangkok Metropolitan Police Commissioner has ordered the transfer of these officers in connection with the illegal gambling activities in these areas.

According to Thai News Agency, the raids were conducted on April 25th and 26th by a special operations unit of the Department of Provincial Administration. These raids targeted two gambling dens under the jurisdiction of Nimitmai and Bueng Kum police stations. Following these operations, the commanders of Metropolitan Police Division 3 and Metropolitan Police Division 4 signed orders to appoint and transfer police officers from the affected stations.

Police Major General Prasong Anmanee, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 3, issued an order assigning four police officers from Nimitmai Police Station to assist at the Metropolitan Police Division 3 Operations Center. This effectively removed them from their original units. The officers affected include Police Colonel Peerarat Yoma, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chakraphong Kingkaew, Police Lieutenant Colonel Worawut Inthasom, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Peerapong Chaiya. Replacements from Metropolitan Police Division 3 have been appointed to ensure continuity of administration.

Similarly, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kampanat Arunkeeriroj, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 4, signed an order transferring five police officers from Bueng Kum Police Station to the Metropolitan Police Division 4 Operations Center. The officers involved in this transfer include Pol. Col. Sanya Ubolwiratana, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thitiwut Ronkaew, Police Lieutenant Colonel Athipapong Panthang, Police Lieutenant Colonel Somjai Rodyang, and Pol. Lt. Col. Kasidetch Panthana. Replacements from units under Metropolitan Police Division 4 have been appointed to prevent any disruption in operations in the area.
