Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) reported that nearly 100,000 people registered to vote in advance and overseas on the first day.
According to Thai News Agency, on December 20th, a total of 98,900 individuals applied for advance voting registration. This registration encompassed those voting within their constituencies, outside their constituencies, and from outside the Kingdom. Specifically, 48 people registered to vote within their constituencies as assigned officials for election day duties. Meanwhile, 90,491 registered to vote outside their constituencies, and 8,361 applied from outside the Kingdom.
The registration process for advance and overseas voting offers three methods: in person at local registrars' offices, district registrars' offices across all 50 districts of Bangkok, or at Thai embassies; via mail; and through online registration. Online registration is accessible 24 hours a day and will remain open from December 20, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
