National Council of Social Welfare Sets New Committee’s Agenda to Aid Vulnerable Groups Across Thailand

Bangkok: The National Council of Social Welfare is advancing its mission to provide essential care and support to individuals in need throughout Thailand. Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Manas Nonuch, President of the National Council of Social Welfare of Thailand under Royal Patronage, has unveiled the strategic direction of the newly appointed committee. He emphasized that this inaugural meeting marks the beginning of their coordinated efforts to enhance social welfare initiatives aimed at assisting people nationwide, particularly focusing on those facing hardship and vulnerable groups.

According to Thai News Agency, the committee plans to collaborate closely with government agencies and member organizations across the country. This collaboration aims to ensure that individuals affected by natural disasters and daily life challenges receive the necessary support. A significant part of their agenda is to promote quality of life and employment opportunities, especially for people with disabilities, recognizing their potential to contribute to society. The council is committed to skill development and creating sustainable employment opportunities to foster self-reliance among this demographic.

In addition, the council intends to work hand-in-hand with relevant bodies such as the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labour, and educational institutions. This partnership aims to integrate various forms of assistance, encompassing employment, education, and overall well-being. Dr. Manas highlighted the importance of unifying efforts among member organizations, government bodies, and other sectors to ensure that continuous support reaches those in need. The overarching goal is to generate job opportunities, facilitate income generation, and ultimately enhance the quality of life for people across the nation.
