Bangkok: Minister Narumon presided over the lay community, leading the Ministry of Education in a merit-making ceremony dedicated to King Rama V, commemorating his great kindness on Chulalongkorn Day. On October 23, 2025, Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education, along with Mr. Ong-at Wongprayoon, Deputy Minister of Education, and the Ministry of Education executives, participated in a merit-making ceremony dedicated to His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, Rama V, at the Ubosot of Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram, Dusit District, Bangkok. The merit-making ceremony was held to express gratitude and to commemorate His Majesty’s great kindness.
According to Thai News Agency, Somdej Phra Buddhacarya, a member of the Sangha Supreme Council, abbot of Wat Traimit Witthayaram, and the head of the Eastern Region, presided over the clergy, while Prof. Dr. Narumon acted as the president of the laity, lighting incense and candles and offering a small golden tray to pay homage in front of the portrait of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn and offering flowers, incense, and candles in front of the portrait of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn.
On this occasion, Phra Thammachirathibodi, abbot of Wat Benchamabophit and the 17th Region Ecclesiastical Chief, paid homage to Somdej Phra Buddhacarya and delivered a sermon. Prof. Dr. Narumon presented a sermon, offered five sets of robes, and offered requisites to Somdej Phra Buddhacarya and the participating monks. Ten monks also chanted Buddhist prayers to dedicate merit to His Majesty the King.
