Multiple Minor Earthquakes Detected in Northern Thailand and Myanmar

Chiang Mai:Nan Six earthquakes were recorded in the regions of Nan, Chiang Mai, and Myanmar, with the strongest registering a magnitude of 2.8 in the Na Khor Ruea Subdistrict of Hod District, Chiang Mai Province.

According to Thai News Agency, these seismic activities occurred between October 1-2, 2026, with magnitudes ranging from 1.5 to 2.8. In Thailand, no damage or impact has been reported as a result of these earthquakes.

The earthquakes in Thailand included magnitudes of 1.8 and 2.3 centered in Nam Muab Subdistrict, Wiang Sa District, Nan Province, and magnitudes of 1.5, 1.7, and 2.8 centered in Na Khor Ruea Subdistrict, Hod District, Chiang Mai Province. In addition, a magnitude 1.6 earthquake was detected in Myanmar, which also did not affect Thailand.
