More People and State Officials Join the 2020 ITA Program against Corruption

President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) Police General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit stated that more people and state officials joined the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) program against corruption in the 2020 fiscal year than in the 2019 fiscal year.

The greater participation in the program reflects their anti-corruption awareness and positive response in promoting the transparency of state agencies and fighting corruption and misconduct in the public sector, Police General Watcharapol said.

In 2020, about 1.3 million people and state officials participated in giving information on the operations of state agencies, under the ITA program. This number represents an increase of 295,405 participants, against that of 2019.

A total of 8,303 state organizations nationwide took part in the ITA program in the 2020 fiscal year. Their average score was 67.9, slightly higher than that of 2019.

Developed by NACC from various operating standards, the ITA program is part of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy – Phase 3 (2017-2021) and is also under the 20-year National Strategy regarding Anti-Corruption and Misconduct B.E. 2561-2580 (2018-2037).

The Cabinet in 2018 instructed all agencies in the public sector to cooperate with NACC in joining its ITA program. NACC has also invited members of the public and state officials to give information in anti-corruption surveys under this program to help strengthen the morality and transparency of the public sector in Thailand.
